Former Bracknell Town defender Michael Hector has been training with EFL Championship club Reading FC, BerkshireLive reports.
Of course, we’re being slightly mischievous with the headline, but if you can’t have a little fun on a Friday afternoon? When can you.
In reality, 30-year-old Hector spent a short three-ish game period on loan at Bracknell Town in 2009 from Reading earlier in his career. The Robins, according to Wikipedia’s listing were the first of Hector’s numerous loan spells before establishing himself as a first-team regular.
Hector joined Bracknell when the Robins were managed by current AFC Aldermaston boss Dave Tuttle, and went on to have loan spells with Didcot Town, Havant & Waterlooville, Oxford City, Dundalk and Aberdeen amongst others before a £4million move to Chelsea in 2015.
Most recently with Fulham, Hector is a free agent and it remains to be seen if he will rejoin Reading permanently, BerkshireLive’s Jonathan Low writing: “It is understood Reading do not have any more room to sign players given they have a limit of 25 players in their senior squad, so any move for Hector is not expected to be imminent.”
