Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League Premier Division North Windsor have announced the re-signing of Matt Stockill.

‘Stocks’ last played for the Royalists during the 2018/19 season making 43 appearances as Windsor finished sixth in the Hellenic League Premier Division and reached the final of the Hellenic League Challenge Cup.

That summer the midfielder made the switch to Reading City and was a key member of the Cityzens side that comfortably finished mid-table after a relegation battle the season before.

Windsor manager Mark Cooper, speaking to Football in Berkshire, said: “We’re delighted to have Stocks back in, he was here as a player before my time and he’s been training with us for a few weeks.

“He was recently with Knaphill in the Premier Division South and will play some part of the friendly with Anguilla on Tuesday night.”

Cooper also revealed how the friendly with the Anguillan national team came about, saying: “Obviously Luke Paris is the key element, but I played under and alongside his dad Alan at centre-back when he was player/manager for Harrow Borough.

“Alan got Luke involved with us previously and he’s been brilliant as a centre-back, he called me two weeks ago and said the Anguillan team were over, working with their UK based players and would we like a game.

“It’s a good friendly for us, we’ve not had much football in the last five weeks, we’ve got 18 or 19 lads tonight so it’ll be a good test.”
