The Vanarama National League South season is someway off, but Slough Town have already started to build toward 2021/22.

On Friday, it was revealed goalkeeper Jack Turner was leaving the club after four seasons and Sam Togwell would hang up his boots while new scout Mick Woodham was appointed Staines Town boss.

The Rebels have moved quickly to replace 175 appearance Turner, signing former Wealdstone goalkeeper Jonathan North from Hendon while forward Tom Derry has joined from Braintree Town.

In returning player news, the club have re-signed Matthew Lench and Scott Davies from Wealdstone and Biggleswade Town respectively.

An interesting bit of information on the re-signing of Lench from managers Jon Underwood and Neil Baker was revealed on the clubs website: “When the approach came in from Wealdstone in December, we encouraged him to make the move as we felt there was more chance of a season finishing at their level than at ours, which was proven right. Unfortunately a change of manager a few weeks into his return to Wealdstone has meant it did not work out how he wanted, however we had made it clear at the time we would welcome him back in this scenario.”
