A rollercoaster of a season for Hungerford Town may yet finish with some silverware after the West Berkshire side reached the Berks & Bucks County FA Senior Cup Final on Tuesday night.
Danny Robinson’s side beat Reading FC courtesy of a Jordan Rose hat-trick in a 4-3 win, the winner coming in the 90th minute at Bulpit Lane.
The Crusaders were 3-1 down at half time despite Rose’s equaliser at 1-0 while Liam McGrory missed the chance to lead on 43 minutes after missing a penalty.
Thomas Conteh made it 3-2 after the break and Rose then equalised before inducing wild scenes with the winner on 90 minutes, sending Robinson’s side to a first County Cup Final since the 2017 1-0 defeat to Maidenhead United.
Hungerford are five time Senior County Cup finalists but have only won once, beating Wycombe 1-0 in 1982.
The West Berkshire side will face the Chairboys again this season at Arbour Park in the Final, after the League One side beat Slough Town on penalties.

The match finished 1-1 at full time after Wycombe had scored through Bradley Fink on two minutes, Tyrese Dyce levelling on 10 minutes.
The game went straight to penalties with Wycombe winning 3-1 – Slough missing their first two spot kicks and Wycombe missing their first.
Typically honest after the game, manager Scott Davies wrote on social media: “Absolutely abysmal penalties, mine being the worst by some way. I knew the wind was strong but my word. Tough game, horrendous conditions and a bitter way to go out in what was a very competitive game. Thanks to all those that braved the weather.”
