Ebbsfleet United midfielder Alfie Egan has made a loan switch to Maidenhead United for the remainder of the 2020/21 season.
Egan, who recently signed a contract extension with Ebbsfleet until the end of the 2021/22 season, will link up with the Magpies to bolster their ranks in the Vanarama National League.
National League South Ebbsfleet had their season curtailed – like Berkshire sides Slough Town and Hungerford Town – the latter who have seen Craig Fasanmade join Wealdstone in a similar loan deal.
Egan will therefore get valuable minutes before returning to Ebbsfleet in the summer. A statement from Ebbsfleet said: “With Alfie’s future at the Fleet now completed, the opportunity to continue playing football for the remainder of this season is beneficial to both his development and fitness and we wish him the very best of luck for the remainder of 2020/21 before welcoming him back to the Kuflink Stadium for pre-season preparations.”
Writing on the Maidenhead United website, chief scout Lee Devonshire said: “Alfie has real good pedigree and EFL experience with AFC Wimbledon. A high-energy midfield player with good ability on the ball who I believe will be a valuable asset during what is a very busy run-in.”
