Millie Farrow, Sophie Howard and Remi Allen were three of the eight players out in contract at Reading in June when the 2019/20 FA WSL season was brought to a halt by the COVID pandemic. The trio have made the trip to the Midlands as they all sign on the dotted lined for Leicester City Women.

Leicester will be pushing for promotion having signed seven WSL players to their squad off the back of their recent announcement, stating the clubs intentions to go professional, the team finished 6th in the championship last season.

Millie Farrow joined Reading in 2018 from Bristol City. The forward made 14 squad appearances, scoring two goals for the Royals. She stated in an interview posted on the Leicester Twitter account that, ‘I’ve been needing a new challenge in my career and I feel like this is the right place for me at the moment…the challenge of going for promotion’.

Defender Sophie Howard also joined in 2018, making the move from Hoffenheim after three years at the club. She made 17 appearances for the Royals.

Remi Allen has been a stalwart in midfield for Reading since signing in 2016 from Birmingham City. With 66 appearances and 14 goals under her belt, Remi will be returning to the first club she played for in Leicester.

Royals boss Kelly Chambers said in a statement on the club website back in June, “I would personally like to put on record a massive thank you to all the players; every single one of them has played a huge part in the success and development of our club,”.

Maxime Bennink, Charlie Escort and Jo Potter are still yet to confirm where they have moved to after their Reading contracts expired in June. Meanwhile, Maz Pacheco made the move to West Ham, Rachael Laws returned to Liverpool and Lisa-Marie Utland moved back to her home country of Norway to join Rosenborg Kvinner.
