Long serving Maidenhead United Women’s goalkeeper Ellie Parker has said goodbye to York Road after ten seasons, the Magpies club website reports.
Parker will move on to Maidenhead’s FA Women’s National League rivals Southampton Women’s FC saying: “The support from the players has been unbelievable and I can’t thank them enough for their kind words and support for me heading into a new challenge. I’ll see you all again soon in the new season!”
Parker made 197 appearances for Maidenhead, helping the club win the 2014/15 Southern Regional Women’s Football League Premier Division as well as other silverware including the Chairman’s Cup, a best ever FA Women’s Cup run and promotion to the National League.

Speaking to Football in Berkshire’s Neil Maskell last season, the former Reading Royals and Basingstoke stopper revealed she some impressive inspiration: “I looked up to Emma Brown-Finnis as she was the only female goalkeeper I used to see on TV growing up, and that was only because we could watch the occasional England game when it was shown. I’ve always liked David Seaman too and of course Jerzy Dudek for his Grobbelaaresque performance in the Champions League final.”
As well as Parker, Maidenhead have also said goodbye to Sophie Modak, Anika Striepecke and Wales Under 17 international Kate La Cumbre.
