Matt Stockill latest to confirm Reading City return

Cityzens have already tied down several of the 2019/20 squad

Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division side Reading City have announced the resigning of midfielder Matt Stockill.

The former Windsor man joined City in the summer of 2019 and made 24 appearances in the curtailed season scoring three goals.

Speaking to the clubs website, manager Simon Johnson said: “‘Stocks was someone we worked hard to get in last year and are delighted he’ll be staying with us again. He is another young talent within our squad and I look forward to seeing him develop again this season. Welcome back Stocks.”

City have been busy confirming the return of a number of players to their ranks next season, with centre backs Alfie Grant and Josh Blackwood already confirmed.

The club suffered a setback over the weekend though as burglars ransacked the recently refurbished clubhouse. A fundraiser setup to help cover repair costs has already reached £835 – you can make a donation to the fund here.
