Maidenhead United reveal eight departures

Vanarama National League side Maidenhead United have revealed eight players have left York Road this summer.

Alongside Joe Ellul – who had already confirmed his departure on social media, Chris Dunn, Freddie Grant, James Akintunde, Shamir Fenelon, Josh Kelly, Danny Whitehall and Aron Davies will all be playing elsewhere in the 2020/21 season.

Whitehall in particular will be a loss for the club having finished the season as the Magpies top goalscorer while Ellul and Kelly were among the clubs higher appearance makes last season.

A statement on the Maidenhead website said: “We would like to thank those leaving the club for their contributions this season and wish them all the very best for the future.

“Following this squad update, we will release further information soon.”
