Vanarama National League South side Hungerford Town have added the experienced Keith Emmerson to their ranks for the 2020/21 season.

The Crusaders, under new manager Danny Robinson, have been busy building a new squad for the season after finishing bottom of the division following the early curtailment of the 2019/20 campaign.

37-year-old Emmerson, an Army fitness instructor, has previously played for the likes of Farnborough Town, Taunton Town and Poole Town and last season was on the books of Winchester City where he made 30 appearances for the Southern League South side.

A statement on the Hungerford Town website describes Emmerson as ‘no nonsense’: “He spent 5 seasons with Poole Town and is excited about testing himself again at this level and didn’t hesitate once receiving the call from Danny Robinson, who sees him as a great asset to the club. Our fans will love his no nonsense playing style and he is sure to add some steel in defence.”

Emmerson is the latest addition at Bulpit Lane with ex-Bracknell Town midfielder Kensley Maloney joining the West Berkshire side alongside Thatcham Town striker Kyle Tooze.
