Bracknell Town sign up young goalkeeper

Young goalkeeper joins the ranks at Larges Lane

Bracknell Town have confirmed the signing of impressive young goalkeeper Sonny Wheeler for the 2019/20 BetVictor Isthmian League season.

The young JMA Reading goalkeeper has signed from Wealdstone but regular Football in Berkshire readers will recognise the name from Binfield where he impressed with three first team appearances as well as 17 appearances for the Moles development team.

Wheeler was also part of the impressive Berks & Bucks County FA under 18 side that lifted the South & West Counties Championship last season.

In December 2018, Wheeler was reportedly on trial with Premier League Bournemouth and will join County under 18 coach Aaron Steadman at Bracknell as well as JMA coach Michael Butcher and fellow former JMA players Ash Artwell and Kensley Maloney.

Wheeler will, say Bracknell, train full time with Reading FC and we presume compete with Mark Scott for the number one jersey.

In June, former Bracknell goalkeeper Chris Grace made his move to Hendon permanent having spent the end of the 2018/19 season with the Southern League Premier Division side.
