Former Bracknell Town and Binfield striker has made the step up to the Vanarama National League South with Hungerford Town.

The move was mooted in last weeks Bracknell News but the step 2 club have now confirmed Ferdinand’s arrival on the Crusaders website saying: “Liam will bring some extra firepower upfront as he joins the team from Bracknell Town.”

The West Berkshire side confirmed the signing on social media having recently added ex-Football League striker James Constable.

Ferdinand made his name at Binfield in the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division before joining Bracknell in the summer of 2017.

That initial move was short lived and he went on to have a successful season with Thatcham Town where he scored 34 goals in 26 games and lifted the Hellenic League title as well as the FA Vase at Wembley – although he was cup-tied for the final.

Last season, Ferdi made a return to Bracknell and was rewarded with the Bostik League South Central Division One golden boot with 32 goals but narrowly missed out on promotion with the club after a play-off final defeat.

The striker – who announced his departure from Larges Lane in May 2019, was also part of an FA side that went to play a series of matches in the Falkland Islands in November 2018.

Crusaders supporters can catch a first glimpse of Ferdinand in an intra-club match at Bulpit Lane, kicking off at midday.
