When we spoke to AFC Aldermaston manager Kieran Jennings recently he was understandably keeping his cards close to his chest in terms of signings, but the club have since announced via twitter a host of signatures including the re-signing of Richard Jones.

Jones – who had a brief spell at Ascot United last season has according to the clubs account taken over the captaincy from the now retired goalkeeper Dan Smith and the full back will undoubtedly have a big part to play in the Atomics season ahead.

Also rejoining for the 2017/18 season is the clubs top scorer Kai Parton-Edey, scorer of 19 goals for the club last season in only 24 appearances while Joe Cummusky and Daniel Alliston have all returned.

The Atomics finished 7th last season, their first back at step 6 since the 1985/86 season and Jennings is looking at both Cummuskey and Karl Hanks to shine in particular in the season ahead.
