It wasn’t to be for Langley in the Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League Division One Play Off Final as they were beaten 2-0 by Rayners Lane.

The home side go on to take a promotion back to Step 5 for the first time since 1994 when they were mid-table in the Hellenic League Premier Division.

It’s a bittersweet moment for Langley though, 2022/23 is an enormous improvement for a side that will be no doubt thinking about automatic promotion next season and comes after a statement 7-1 result in the play off semi final against Berks County.

In the end it was a double from Lanes Jake Tabor that secured promotion for the home side who will look now to make a mark on the Combined Counties League Premier Division.
