Vanarama National League South Hungerford Town aren’t going down without a fight as the Crusaders stunned play-off chasing Braintree Town at Bulpit Lane.
The Bulpit Beast roared again as first Ryan Jones equalised Braintree’s second-half opener, and then Joe Boachie won it with 15 minutes remaining.
The win puts Danny Robinson’s side within three points of safety as every side immediately above the Crusaders lost on a day that will breathe confidence that the West Berkshire side can beat the odds, and the drop.

Windsor were left stunned by a London Lions fightback in the Combined Counties League Premier Division North as first-half goals from Justin Davis and a Tyler Robinson double gave the Royalists a 3-0 head start.
However Lions had other ideas and scored twice themselves before the break with the leveller coming on 50 minutes.
The rollercoaster wasn’t finished though as Lions then lead 4-3 before a Luke Appleton belter levelled, only for Jack Mattey to win it for the home side with five minutes remaining.
The result leaves Windsor in trouble in the relegation zone, albeit with games in hand over drop rivals Wokingham & Emmbrook.

Elsewhere, the weather played havoc with fixtures across Step 5 and below, but Virginia Water checked Flackwell Heath’s CCL promotion hopes with a 3-2 win at Stag Meadow while Thatcham Town came from behind to beat promotion-chasing Northwood 2-1 courtesy of a Simeon Weekes brace at the Stacatruc Stadium.
