Promotion-chasing Langley FC extended their lead at the top of Combined Counties League Division One to four points with a thumping 5-0 win against Brook House at Arbour Park.

Emmanuel Nwokebuite opened the scoring in the 16th minute for Langley, producing a header from a pinpoint corner that found the bottom corner.

It was 2-0 just 9 minutes later. Jaiden Celestine-Charles got the first of his brace when he was put through on goal and from a tight angle found the net with a rasping shot. The keeper got his hands to it but couldn’t keep it out.

As the home side continued to dominate, Flavio Gyawu-Kyem went close as a ball crossed by Celestine-Charles came off his body, hit the post and bounced into the grateful hands of the Brook House keeper.

But Celestine-Charles made it 3-0 in the 32nd minute from a corner, which should have been dealt with by the Brook House defence. As the ball bobbled around in the 6-yard box, the keeper kept out two efforts before Celestine-Charles tapped home for his second.

Brook House improved at the start of the second half and kept Langley at bay until the 74th minute when Antonio Dennis scored the goal of the game. He went in for a loose ball with the keeper, which he won, but found himself facing the wrong way. A cheeky backheel fooled two defenders on its way into the net.

Gyawu-Kyem added the fifth, which his performance deserved, just a couple of minutes later with a sharp turn and shot that gave the keeper no chance.

An impressive performance all around from Langley. They didn’t give the Brook House defence a minute’s peace. The power and pace of the forwards showed you why they have hit 71 league goals this season. It all points to a terrific fight for the title with Sandhurst Town.
