Following a month-long break enforced by the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, and despite some pretty awful weather over the past few days, all 22 scheduled league fixtures were played this morning as the Bracknell Sunday League made a welcome return to action.
In the Premier Division, and now without FC Fernhill following their resignation from the League a month ago, Finchampstead Athletic installed themselves as favourites for the title by moving top following their tight 3-2 win against Berks County. Finchampstead’s goal-scorers were Leon Mannion (2) and Greg Alexander. Elsewhere, goals by Alex Badshah, Ryan McManus and Lenny Musgrove gave Bracknell Rangers their first points of the campaign with a 3-0 win at Crowthorne Inn whilst the other game in the Division finished in a 3-1 win for Woodley Saints against Raglan.
Crowthorne continued their impressive start to their season with their fourth win in as many games with a 3-2 win away at Athletico Ascot. On the scoresheet for Crowthorne were Rui Da Silva, Dave Mullins and Marlon Rush. That win moves them to the top of Division 1, displacing Bearwood Wanderers who could only manage a 0-0 draw against Loveman United. Wokingham & Emmbrook TMW moved into 3rd position with a 6-1 win away to Panthers. Elsewhere Finchampstead Athletic Reserves beat Sandhurst FFC 4-1 whilst the game between Bigshot and Athletico Forest finished all-square at 1-1.
Freeman Royals maintained their 100% start to their first season in the League with a 2-1 win against Silver Birch and top the Division on goal difference from Winnersh Rangers who beat Winnersh Town 5-2 whilst Woodley United are third after beating Bracknell Athletic 3-0.
Leaders at the start of the day in Division 3 Bracknell Spartans Vets slipped up in defeat to FC Harmanswater 2-4 and were replaced at the top by FC Showcase, who remain unbeaten after their 2-0 win against Bracknell Royals.
In Division 4 Bracknell Athletic Reserves stay top despite losing to AFC Dukes 3-4 whilst 3M, big winners today by 9-2 against Bracknell Spartans, closed the gap at the top to 2 points. Bracknell Titans still seek their first points of the season after losing bout to Finchampstead Athletic A by 0-4.
