Sam Barratt added to his impressive goal tally for the season as Maidenhead United made it five league wins on the bounce on Saturday, beating Chesterfield 2-1 in Derbyshire.
The Magpies were made to do it the hard way though as they fell behind on the half hour mark after Scott Boden lofted the ball over Taye Ashby-Hammond.
The hosts returned to the changing rooms at half-time the happiest, but it didn’t last long in the second period as Barratt levelled proceedings on 54 minutes.
The league’s top scorer produced a cross which, somehow, ended up in the back of Kyle Letheren’s net.
Maidenhead’s number 25 wasn’t done there as he sealed the three points with just under 20 minutes remaining, heading home his ninth of the season.
The Magpies were without suspended James Comley, but his absence paved the way for new signing Rohan Ince to make his debut at the Technique Stadium.
There were also changes in the Maidenhead dug-out too as Assistant Manager Ryan Peters took charge of proceedings.
The result meant that the Berkshire side find themselves in fourth, four points off top spot as they look ahead their trip to Aldershot Town on Tuesday night.
