Positives for Windsor and Lee Barney worry for Bracknell Town

The weekend pre season round up

Jamie Di Guiseppe scored a third minute penalty as Windsor put in an encouraging performance against Isthmian League Premier Division side Hayes & Yeading United.

The Royalists were eventually beaten by an 86th minute winner in a 2-1 defeat at Stag Meadow after a 27th minute equaliser.

Neighbours Slough Town went down to a 3-0 defeat to National League Sutton United at Arbour Park with former Bracknell Town winger Joe Grant getting 90 minutes, while Dan Roberts came on at half time.

Ascot United and Bracknell Town’s pre season campaigns continued with a visit each from National League Maidenhead United.

Football in Berkshire spoke to Magpies chief scout Lee Devonshire here, but the Yellamen were beaten 3-2 while the Robins were beaten 1-0 at Larges Lane. The big worry for Bracknell boss Sam Lock will be seeing striker Lee Barney come off after eight minutes – he was replaced by Shane Cooper-Clark.

Southern League Thatcham Town picked up a 9-0 over Wessex League Division One side Ringwood Town while Sandhurst Town drew 1-1 with Wokingham & Emmbrook – a fixture that saw the Fizzers twitter man forced to apologise for a lack of second half tweets, we’ll let him off though.
