Dan Roberts was on top form in front of goal once again as Windsor ran out 3-0 winners at Brackley Town Saints in the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division.
For Windsor, beating one of the Hellenic Premier Division’s title favourites is ideal preparation for an FA Vase Fifth Round tie on the 2nd February with one more stern test away to Wantage Town before then.
Brackley were second going in to the tie on 51 points, one behind leaders Brimscombe & Thrupp with two games in hand.
For the match itself, Mick Woodham’s side led 1-0 on 41 minutes through Bracknell Town loanee Roberts at half time and he rounded off the three points with 83rd and 84th minute strikes.
The goals represent Roberts 9th, 10th and 11th Hellenic League strikes of the season with 23 in total in all competitions. The goals put Roberts 8th in the league goal scoring charts, and Windsor certainly have the games in hand for the youngster to challenge some of the established names at the top.

Windsor’s win marks the end of a little bit of a sticky league patch that saw two points earned from their last four fixtures.
Elsewhere, the snow and cold weather put paid to any Tuesday night fixtures but on Monday night a Jemel Johnson goal earned Binfield a 1-1 draw with Virginia Water at Hill Farm Lane.
