Who will take the Hellenic League Premier Division golden boot?

If I was a betting man, I’d have had Ascot United forward Nathan Minhas nailed on to finish as top scorer in the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division.

With 24 goals in 25 league appearances, Minhas’ ratio wasn’t as impressive as last season’s top scorer Shane Cooper-Clark who bagged 40 in 34 games but had he not departed for the National League South, there was plenty of time to get there.

So who are the runners and riders to take the crown off the promoted Thatcham Town striker?

Former Bracknell Town striker TJ Bohane is the current man in possession having finished second behind Thame United’s Lynton Goss in 2016/17.

TJ is on 18 after settling back at Royal Wootton Bassett Town following a pre season with Wantage Town and he’s joined on that number by Freds striker Stephen Robertson.

Both players scored in their respective sides last fixtures so you’d certainly have to think both will push each other all the way.

If there’s an edge, Wantage look well positioned for a title challend on 45 points after 22 games. That’s five games in hand on current leaders Ascot.

Below them though is – dare we say it title favourites Brackley Town Saints Ryan Knight, fresh from a crucial goal against Ardley United and with 15 from 18 games.

Rounding things off, we have Bishop’s Cleeve’s Elliot Kennedy hit a brace in the Mitre’s last league game at Abingdon United.
