Woodley United’s title aspirations took a knock with a 1-0 defeat at champions and Hellenic League Division 1 East leaders Penn & Tylers Green.

United would have cut the leaders lead to three points with a win, but instead saw Penn’s advantage stretch to nine at French School Meadows.

Michael Herbert’s side still have three games in hand but P&T have a far superior goal difference of +43 to second placed Uniteds +14.

Also in D1E, Wokingham & Emmbrook were beaten 4-2 at home to Rayners Lane and had a man sent off for the second time on as many games.

Tom Williams scored first for the Sumas but the visitors equalised and took the lead shortly after from a counterattack.

Luke Giles levelled the Sumas up to 2-2 but Lane scored twice in the second half with the home side searching for a winner.

There was a 3-1 win for Sandhurst Town at home to Chinnor while 10-man Finchampstead lost 2-1 at Headington Amateurs.

Michael Walton and Lewis Leonetti gave Binfield a 2-0 half time lead in the Hellenic Premier and they held out for all three points despite a second half consolation for Brackley Town Saints.
