New Slough Town boss Alan Julian has wasted no time in making his mark on his new side with several new signings and senior players committing to the Rebels.

The former Hampton & Richmond Borough boss and Stevenage Borough goalkeeper was boosted immediately following his appointment with the news captain Henry Ochieng and attacker Johnny Goddard had both pledged their immediate futures to the National League South club.

This week, 19-year-old Sutton United forward George Vorster signed on the dotted line having enjoyed a breakout campaign last season where he scored 17 goals in 40 appearances on loan at Burgess Hill Town. He also made his Sutton debut in the Surrey Senior Cup and was named in the U’s FA Cup squad for the Second Round tie against Shrewsbury Town.

Julian has also added experience to his back line with the addition of Keenan Quansah – brother of England and Bayer Leverkusen defender Jarell.

Quansah joins from Hereford where he made 39 appearances last season having also played for Southport. Meanwhile former academy player Kyle Brooks has rejoined the Rebels after a spell with Berkhamstead and Louis Walsh has returned to the club from Thame United.

As exciting a signing as Vorster may be, the good news for Slough fans will be keeping hold of a number of the club’s talented prospects for at least another season. Jared Myers is the latest player to commit having joined from Bedfont Sports last summer.

He is joined by 22-year-old Ruben Shakpoke who had an option to extend exercised by the club while 23-year-old full-back Tarik Gidaree will also remain at Arbour Park along with Balu Makumbi and the more experience Luke Holness.
