Former Bracknell Town midfielder George Knight has made a summer transfer to the Love Island villa.
Knight left the Robins for National League Dorking Wanderers in January 2026 after six years with Bracknell, but will be looking for a new club next season after he was announced as ‘released’ last month. However, he’ll now embark on a summer of match-making on the ITV show.
Love Island started on Monday night and those of you paying attention will note George wasn’t part of the initial line-up.
That’s because George – typically a bombshell box-to-box midfielder – heads into the show as a ‘bombshell’ contestant.
According to Cosmopolitan: “If you watched this year’s launch episode, you’ll know Maya Jama delivered the ultimate twist during the first coupling up. After setting the 12 Islanders up in a fairly awkward situation, where they had to decide who to pair up with face-to-face, everything seemed to be smooth sailing.
“Only, she then dropped the ultimate bombshell in the shape of, well, two new bombshells: George and Yasmin. The pair were given the ultimate power, when the host revealed they’d be allowed to dump two Islanders of their choice in 24 hours time.”

Who is George Knight? The Love Island ‘bombhsell’?
Most of us around here will know George as an all action former Bracknell Town midfielder. George moved up a division in January with Dorking Wanderers and will be part of the clubs squad again next season.
A Bracknell Town fan favourite, Knight scored 21 goals from over 200 appearances and was a key player as the Robins won the Isthmian League South Central Division One at a canter, as well as two momentous FA Cup runs only ended by Football League giants Ipswich Town and Cambridge United.

On Knight’s departure in January, manager Carl Davies said: “It’s never easy losing a player like George, but I’m absolutely delighted for him as he moves on to Dorking Wanderers. Since I came in, George has been nothing short of brilliant – his energy, drive and consistency in midfield have been a massive influence on our upturn in results.
“He’s a character who will be sorely missed. He’s a been a fantastic servant to the club, and the dressing room will definitely be a quieter place with him… and his questionable wardrobe! A top player and an even better lad.
“Thank you for everything, George – you deserve this opportunity. I’ll be keeping a close eye on your progression.”
