Westwood Wanderers are going for their first silverware of the season as the Charles Twelftree Trophy Final takes place at Slough Town’s Arbour Park on Wednesday night.

The Tilehurst-based side are aiming to retain the County Cup trophy they won last season at the same ground and face Spartan South Midlands League Division Two side Old Bradwell United.

Manager Devonn Reid of course has made headlines recently in his day job in recent weeks when he was named ‘King of the Buses‘ by his employer Reading Buses, now he is aiming to deliver part one of a quadruple that includes retaining the Thames Valley Premier League title and League Cup.

Speaking to Football in Berkshire’s Dave Wright last week, he said: “There is a new Thames Valley Premier League FA Cup, so we could complete a quadruple. There cannot be many clubs at our level that have won that many trophies in the same season.

“I understand the final could be played at the Madejski Stadium, like the Senior Cup is, and, as we already know, that is a great evening out for the players, officials and supporters.”

As it stands, Westwood are five points clear in the race for the TVPL title with a game in hand over nearest rivals Wargrave. They host Reading City Development on Saturday at Denefield School.
