Devonn Reid is up for a Berkshire Football Award in the category of Manager of the Season (Men’s Game) sponsored by Massage Movements.
The Westwood Wanderers boss led his side to a treble this season on top of winning last season’s Thames Valley Premier League. Wanderers won the league again this season as well as the County Cup and Berkshire Trophy Centre Senior Cup.
One nomination for the award said: “The job he has done to turn this club around needs praise! Each year it gets better and better. He’s not only just managing this team he runs the whole men’s sector at Westwood and is pushing and striving to make this club big and one that’s talked about”
Another added: He’s won back to back TVPL titles and this season Westwood are treble winners. The TVPL is a really tough league with a lot of good teams and players, so to achieve what he has this season and last is stunning – football in Reading is alive and well.
A third said: “Devonn Reid has been Westwood manager for two years now. First year he won the league title and narrowly missed out on this award last year. This year he’s gone well beyond last year winning the treble! Berks and bucks, TVPL and the BTC cup, his team have gone 30 games unbeaten with their last loss being back in September. He deserves all the credit and recognition as that team is something special.”
