Evie Davies is up for a Berkshire Football Award in the category of Young Player of the Season (Female) sponsored by Procision Football Academy.

Davies played 19 times for Finch’s development team in the Thames Valley Counties Women’s Football League scoring nine times.

One nomination for the award said: “Finchampstead Ladies Reserves formed at the beginning of the season. Evie started training with us and was only 16. She was very nervous and unsure whether Ladies football or u18s was the right move for her.

“She worked hard in training and has earnt herself second top goalscorer for the team. Evie unfortunately broke her collarbone early on in the season in one of our games. I thought this may have set her back. She came back after Christmas eager to impress. A little nervous at first but with the team around her we had the old Evie back and wow did we miss her awesome crosses, awesome corners and awesome goals!

“She doesn’t always believe in herself but we sure believe in her and I am so glad she chose to join the Ladies game!! She will have many successful years to come with her positive attitude and I am sure she will go from strength to strength!”

Another added: “Evie has been sensational. At just 16 she has been our second top scorer, this after being out for eight weeks with a broken collarbone and she’s not a striker for the team. She is also a great ambassador for our team and for ladies football. She is always fair and honest and gives 100% every match. Most weeks the opposition managers comment on her positive performances.”

NOMINATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED!

Yes! The awards are taking place at the marvellous Double-Barrelled Brewery in Reading and we’ll have food available. Tickets will be limited but on sale from 28th May. If you’d like to know when, so you don’t miss out, make sure you’ve signed up to our email newsletter here.

Scroll down to the bottom of this article for the nomination form. Before you do that though, here’s what the judging panel are looking for when choosing the shortlist.

What’s the story? Tell us exactly why the person or place should be considered. We hate to get all ‘X Factor journey’ on you but the more detail you can include, the better we can argue for your nominee for the short list.

The sort of details we love to see include things like player awards, goals, clean sheets and any other significant contributions to the footballing community – obviously within the 2024/25 season.

We’ll publish all the nominees for the Berkshire Football Awards as we receive them.

You can view all the 2025 nominees so far here.

Want to know who’s previously won what at the Berkshire Football Awards? There’s a big long page with all the previous winners here.

Nominations will be open until midday on Monday 26th May 2025.

The Long List will be published on Wednesday 28th May and the Short List on Friday 30th May.

Once the nomination window has closed, the nominations in each category will be put before a panel of judges for a decision, the top four announced online and the winners at the awards night on Wednesday 18th June.

We will accept nominations for people out of area, the only prerequisite is that the reason for nomination is that it must be because of an affiliation with a club we cover on Football in Berkshire (a full list is at the bottom of this page). We will present certificates and a trophy to the winners.

  • All nominations are done by you, the Berkshire footballing public
  • You can nominate as many people as you like for each award – the quantity of nominations counts for the judging panel..
  • That said, quality is just as important, the more detail you provide about why you are nominating, the better
  • Please try and avoid nominating your own family members
  • Due to difficulties in obtaining permissions under child protection laws we won’t consider any player under the age of 16 for nomination in any of the categories
