A fund setup to aid Caversham United goalkeeper Holly Robinson after a horrific injury during a Southern Region Women’s Football League Premier Division game has hit the £4,000 mark.

Robinson, the sister of Hungerford Town manager Danny, lost four teeth while making a ‘fearless pounce’ during a game against Abingdon United over a week ago.

Chairman Paul Gutteridge told Football in Berkshire: “During the match, fearless Holly rushed out to pounce upon a loose ball but met the boot of an opposition player. In the face.”

The fund was setup when it became apparent that despite FA accident insurance as well as personal medical cover, neither policy would cover the substantial dental bill.

Speaking to FiB last week, Danny Robinson said the support his sister and family had received “was “meant so much,” and the fund setup is now just shy of 80% of an overall £5,000 target.

Danny said: “Holly absolutely loves her football and all the support and love we have received has been truly amazing. If you can spread the word or even make the smallest of donations makes the world of a difference. Thank you all again.”

If you are able to make a donation, the GoFundMe page is now live here.
