Three noughties legends reunited at Bracknell Town on Tuesday night as the Robins played out a 1-1 draw with Chertsey Town at Bottom Meadow.
New manager Jon Underwood was joined by his former Bracknell defensive team mates Neil Baker and Stuart Hammonds for the fixture – his second since taking over the reigns from Jordan Ive.
Reuniting for the first time since they all played together at Larges Lane, the trio were mainstays for Bracknell in the early 2000’s under Alan Taylor as the Robins went from the Isthmian League Division Three up to Division One during during the summer of 2002
Hammonds originally joined on loan from Sutton United 01/02 before signing permanently in the summer, joining Baker and Underwood in a formidable back three.
Baker, currently in a role with Farnborough having spent almost a decade with ‘Unders’ at Slough Town, said to Football in Berkshire: “Great to have the three of us united to support Unders! Have stayed great friends through all these years, and was a pleasure for us to line up as a three together!”
Underwood said: “It was great to see Hammo!”
Bracknell reappointed their former manager – who was in charge for the start of the 2007/08 season – a fortnight ago and the new boss has had a creditable start with points at home against Chertsey and big-spending AFC Totton.
Underwood has announced a couple of appointments to his Bracknell Town staff including Lee Riddell as Assistant Manager – he was previously with the club under Carl Withers and Jamie McClurg, and Rhys Evans as goalkeeping coach.
