Former Binfield Bracknell Town manager Jamie McClurg has been appointed as the new boss at Combined Counties League Fleet Town.

McClurg, a former Fleet player, has taken over after the club were beaten finalists in the Combined Counties League Premier Division South Play-Offs.

A former midfielder for Fleet, as well as Slough Town, Binfield, Bracknell and Godalming Town, McClurg was joint boss with Carl Withers as Binfield reached the FA Vase Final at Wembley Stadium, as well as leading Bracknell to two FA Cup First Round ties against Ipswich Town and Cambridge United.

McClurg is the latest addition at Calthorpe Park with a Bracknell connection after former Robins player and manager Jon Underwood was appointed Director of Football.

Speaking to the club website following his appointment, McClurg said: “I’m really pleased to be joining Fleet Town. It’s a club I know well and one that has huge potential both on and off the pitch. After speaking with the board and especially Jon, it was clear there is real ambition here and I’m excited to get started.”
