Bracknell Town and Sandhurst Town will shortly have new owners, taking over from the well-established SB Sport and Education Group Limited.
“We are pleased to announce that an agreement has been reached for the sale of the group,” chairman Kayne Steinborn-Busse confirmed.
He has not yet disclosed the name of the new buyers but said they will “bring a wealth of experience in football, education, and business”, saying they “have been carefully selected to ensure the continued success and growth of the clubs.”
He added: “Our solicitors are working diligently with the new owners’ solicitors to finalise the legal side of their takeover. We are trying to complete this process before the season ends, allowing the new owners to commence their work.
“We are delighted to have found the perfect fit with the new owners, who possess the necessary skills and expertise to take the clubs forward on and off the pitch.
“We want to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to the fans, players, and staff who have been an integral part of the SB Sport and Education Group Ltd. Your unwavering support and dedication have played a significant role in the success of our clubs, and we are confident that this new chapter will bring even greater achievements.”
With his wife Sophie battling with cancer, Steinborn-Busse announced last October he was planning to stand down at the end of the season, and his eldest son, Louie, has taken on a lot of the clubs’ administration duties.
As he looks to hand over the reins, Steinborn-Busse delivered this message: “We want to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to the fans, players, and staff who have been an integral part of The SB Sport and Education Group Ltd.
Your unwavering support and dedication have played a significant role in the success of our clubs, and we are confident that this new chapter will bring even greater achievements.
“We understand that you may have questions, and we assure you that further updates will be provided as soon as they become available. We kindly request your patience and support during this transition period.”
There has been a lot of frustration for all those connected with Bracknell Town this season. Jordan Ive’s team failed to beat teams in the lower reaches of the Southern League Premier South but then defeated those high up the table, including a double over play-off-chasing Merthyr.
The Robins cannot be ruled out of making the playoffs but quickly need to string some wins together with nine fixtures remaining.
Steinborn-Busse has sent out a message to the supporters, telling them: “I want to assure you that I am fully committed to ending my tenure as chairman on a positive note. I will do everything I can to support our management team, Jordan and Reesy (Scott Rees) and the playing team to dig deep and work harder to find our form in these final nine games.”
