Emile Acquah celebrates England call with Maidenhead United brace

Emile Acquah will head off to England C duty having given Paul Fairclough a selection headache after the Maidenhead United striker scored a brace for his side on Saturday.

Acquah – who is vying with Wrexham’s Sam Dalby and Notts County’s Macauley Langstaff for a starting spot – scored both the Magpies goals as Maidenhead beat Maidstone United at York Road.

The striker was announced as part of the 16-man squad at the end of last week having originally made the long list.

England C are due to face Wales at Altrincham on Tuesday night with tickets now available through the Altrincham FC ticket portal here.

Fellow Magpies Sam Barratt and Charlee Adams have all previously earned England C caps as well as the likes of like Sam Clucas, Andre Gray, Barry Hayles, Steve Guppy and Nick Crittenden.
