Reading FC Women attacker Emma Harries hit 50 appearances for the Royal over the weekend in the FA Women’s Super League tie at Chelsea.
Reading lost the game 3-2 but enjoyed a stunning second-half revival from 3-0 down with Harries earning an assist as she captained the side for the second time this season.
Writing on Twitter, Harries said: “Grateful to have represented Reading FC Women 50 times! Excited for more happy moments to come.”
The forward was up against a former teammate and arguably one that has blazed a trail for women’s football in England and particularly Berkshire – Fran Kirby – who scored Chelsea’s controversial opener (Johanna Rytting Kaneryd appeared to be offside in the build up) while Jelena Cankovic scored twice for the blues.

Sanne Troelsgaard and Amalie Eikeland replied in the second-half as Reading looked to shock the FA WSL leaders in their own backyard, but all in all Reading can be pleased with the way they responded and have now picked up four points from their last three league games.
Women’s FA Cup Fourth Round draw
Reading now eagerly await the draw for the Vitality Women’s FA Cup Fourth Round which included the FA WSL teams for the first time this season.
13 games in the Third Round were postponed over the weekend but two fourth-tier sides are in the draw – Cardiff City Ladies and Hashtag United – while tier three teams Ipswich Town and Wolverhampton Wanderers are also in the hat.
The draw is due on Monday night at 7pm with Reading listed as ball 10 in the draw. So look out for that alongside number 12 which is surely inevitable!
