Thames Valley Counties Women’s Football League side S4K Ladies have appointed Michelle Melia as manager.

The midfielder, previously a youth player with Fulham as well as senior football with Bracknell Town and Binfield, replaces Graham Ridley in charge of the Bracknell-based side.

Melia said the new role had made her fall in love with coaching again: “I took the Coaching/Manager role as the girls were getting a lot out of my session, they felt like they were learning more and getting more confident. I took the role as an interim when our previous coach resigned and it’s made me fall In love with coaching again, seeing the girls excited.”

“I haven’t coached since I was in America and coaching at Fulham, but when I took the role it all came back so naturally and even I was going home buzzing.”

She added: “A few of the girls have said they enjoy my style and we are getting results.“
