Departing Bracknell Town boss Bobby Wilkinson has issued a statement following his departure from the Pitching In Southern League Premier Division South side.
Writing on Twitter, Wilkinson said: “What an unbelievable journey, I would like to personally thank Kayne the chairman, volunteers, the wonderful fans and my players and staff. What an achievement to win the league and to become history makers. We did this together. Good luck in the future.”
The Robins boss was confirmed as departing at the end of last week by the club in a statement, having led Bracknell to the Isthmian League South Central Division One title and promotion last season.
The statement said: On Thursday, we accepted the verbal resignation of first team manager Bobby Wilkinson. Bobby was going to take today’s game; however, sadly events unfolded as they did on Thursday, and today’s game was rightly postponed.
As a club, when we appointed Bobby in 2019, we had planned to be further along our journey at this stage. Two seasons ended due to the Covid pandemic has seen us only able one promotion in three years.
In recognition of Bobby’s outstanding achievements last season and out of respect to his ambitions to manage at a higher level we have, subject to a legal agreement, accepted his resignation.
The board would like to thank him and his coaching team for their continued efforts and success.
We wish him all the best for the future.
