Whilst the Southern Region Women’s Football League has wrapped up for the season, there’s still a chance for some action from the divisions as the League Cup and the Chairman’s Cup finals are set to take place on Sunday 24th of April. There may be no Berkshire sides competing for the silverware but The Rivermoor Stadium, home of Reading City and Woodley FC, will play host to both competitions.
SRWF League Cup Final
Abingdon Town will face AFC Bournemouth Development. Abingdon Town finished a respectable fourth in the Premier Division of the SRWFL just a point behind our very own Ascot United, whilst AFC Bournemouth Development took Division One South by storm finishing top of the division and securing promotion for themselves. Bournemouth will be keen to go for the double in this cup tie.
Kick off is at 11am.
Chairman’s Cup Final
This final is set to be a tasty match up as Premier Division winners Moneyfields take on runners up Abingdon United, just two points separated the sides in the final standings, though Moneyfields mighty goal difference will have secured things for them anyway. Much like Bournemouth, Moneyfields will be after the double so expect an exciting game between the two.
Kick off is at 3pm.
Good luck to all the four teams competing and if you get the chance, head down to watch the action for yourself! Address details are as follows: The Rivermoor, Scours Lane, Tilehurst, Reading, RG30 6AY
