It’s tight at the top of the Pitching In Isthmian League South Central Division One and if the opening games are anything to go by, we’re in for an exciting season.

On Saturday, Bracknell Town’s unbeaten start was ended by a 39th minute Nnamdi Nwachuku goal in a 1-0 win for Marlow at Bottom Meadow, the Robins first league defeat since South Park won 4-2 at Larges Lane on 7th December 2019.

The Robins were without their influential forward Joe Grant following his injury in the win against Uxbridge while the visitors fielded a couple of former Bracknell players in Marcus Mealing and Jordan Brown.

Despite their only being four fixtures in the division on Saturday, a remarkable 25 goals were scored with Hanwell beating Staines Town 6-5 and Uxbridge going top of the table with a 7-1 win at Northwood.
