The Thames Valley Premier League, at step 7 of the English Football Pyramid, will resume, and attempt to complete its 2020/21 season, it has been confirmed.

A Special General Meeting (SGM), held with TVPL clubs on Tuesday 9th March, saw a proposal to extend the season and attempt to complete it passed in a vote.

In a post on Twitter, the leagues account said: “After tonight’s SGM the fantastic news that the league will resume from Saturday 10th April. A huge thank you to all clubs for working through to get a sensible return and playing terms. Great to be back playing.”

It is understood it is the leagues intention to play as many games as possible and use the Points Per Game (PPG) method if it is not possible to complete the season. Teams will be allowed to withdraw or scratch individual games without a financial penalty.

Prior to the lockdown that saw the league halted, in the Premier Division, Finchampstead led the way but had played seven games. Most clubs had played four or five including Berks County who have a 100% record after four fixtures.

The league has five divisions and spans, as the name suggests, the Thames Valley. In Division One it is Wargrave who lead the way on goal difference from FC Imaan Lions and Reading YMCA.
