Eversley & California played out a nine-goal thriller with hosts Fleet Spurs at Kennels Lane on Saturday.
Spurs started strongly and by the 13th minute they had already raced into a two-goal lead, but Eversley did not panic, and seven minutes later they were back in the game when a Mo Davies through ball left Josh Sapsed one on one with the goalkeeper, and he drilled his shot into the net.
There were no further goals before half time, but the second half started with a goal frenzy. Fleet caught the Boars napping at the start of the half, going 3-1 up just a minute after the break but the deficit was reduced five minutes later when Mo Davies converted a penalty that he won himself after being tripped in the box.
The home side restored their two-goal advantage on 55 minutes making the score 4-2, but just four minutes later Clive Akem-Che headed home for Eversley after Brad Brown had hit the bar.
The Boars drew level on 66 minutes when a Sapsed cross was headed in by Brown and Ellis Wood’s men clinched the win 9 minutes from time as substitute Owen Powell beat the keeper in the air and bundled the ball home to leave the final score 5-4 to Eversley & California.
Sandhurst impressive away
Sandhurst Town continued their fine form and their climb up the league table with an impressive victory at AC London. The home side started the day in third place in the league and were in front after 15 minutes when they converted a penalty for the lead.
The Fizzers turned the game around with two goals in two minutes in the second half. First Charlie Oakley equalised in the 52nd minute with his ninth goal in nine games, and Ashley Ledger made it 2-1 to Sandhurst two minutes later. Michael Herbert’s men saw the game out and the win takes them into the top half of the table.
Atomics beaten
AFC Aldermaston endured a disappointing afternoon as they lost at home to Milton United. The Atom Men took the lead when a long ball caused confusion and found Jamal Forde-Small all alone to slot in. Milton equalised nine minutes later and there was further bad news for Aldermaston who had Kashif Chowdhary sent off just before half time.
The visitors took the lead mid-way through the second half but there was late drama as Josh Blackwood converted a Lemar Maycock cross to level the scores in the 88th minute only for Milton to immediately go up the other end and score the winner. In the moments that followed goal scorer Blackwood picked up a second yellow card meaning the Atom Men finished with nine men.
Wallingford Town progressed to the quarter final of the Berks & Bucks Senior Trophy with a victory over Oxfordshire Senior League side Kennington Athletic. Kennington took the lead in the first half but goals from Lawrence Aitchinson, Charlie Silkstone and Jack McLaughlin gave Wally a 3-1 victory despite them having Max Mohan-Triggle sent off.
