Highly-rated former Bracknell Town winger Sam Barratt has signed a new contract with Maidenhead United for the clubs 2017/18 adventure in the National League.
The Magpies won the National League South this season with Barratt – who has had trials at Football League club Bristol Rovers and Premier League side Crystal Palace this season – featuring regularly both in the starting eleven and from the bench.
Barratt had a successful month long loan spell at Staines Town during the season and hit the ground running on his return to York Road with this fine effort:
In a statement posted on his twitter page the former Woodley United and Bracknell youngster said: “I am delighted to be taking another step in my football career and progressing to the National League with Maidenhead United.
“It took a lot of thinking but I have decided I want to experience the National League, getting my head down and working harder than ever to be on the best form in the best league I have played in.”

Back at the start of May Barratt played 90 minutes in a reserve game for Palace, and played in several pre season games for Bristol Rovers while another former Bracknell forward Leslie Sackey has been signed up by Scunthorpe United.
As ever at FootballinBracknell, we wish Sam all the best in his quest to become a professional footballer.
