Woodley United striker Charlie Oakley has won the Hellenic League Division 1 East golden boot after scoring two goals in his sides 3-2 win over Chalfont Wasps at Scours Lane in the final game of the season.

The double for Oakley takes him to 23 league goals for the season – level with Headington Amateur’s Luke Cuff but Oakley lifts the coveted award by virtue of having scored his goals in four fewer matches than Cuff.

The award marks just over a week of celebrations for the United hit man who won promotion with the Kestrels to the Hellenic Premier Division last week and lifted the Berks & Bucks County FA Intermediate Cup on Saturday following a 2-1 win over Marlow United at Larges Lane.

Charlie Oakley opened the scoring on 8 minutes but but Wasps hit back to lead 2-1 before Liam Wilson levelled for Michael Herbert’s side and Oakley hit the winner on 75 minutes.
