Sandhurst Town’s first season in the Hellenic League Division 1 East ended on a high with a 2-1 win at Bicester Town on Wednesday night.

The Fizzers had to come from behind to win their final game of the season after Daniel Bone gave Bicester a 44th minute lead before a double from Richard Hughes on 76 and 89 minutes gave Luke Turkington’s side the three points and an eighth placed finish in the 14 team league.

Hughes took his goal tally to six in 24 appearances in all competitions this season.

Elsewhere Woodley United finished their season off with a flourish as they beat Chalfont Wasps 3-2 thanks to goals from Liam Wilson and a double for Charlie Oakley – enough to win the Kestrels forward the Division 1 East golden boot.
