Vanarama National League side Maidenhead United have announced a decision on their impending Berks & Bucks County FA Senior Men’s Cup tie with Marlow.

The Magpies have announced their withdrawal from the competition citing fixture congestion after the derby fixture was postponed on several occasions recently.

A statement from the club said: “We have taken the decision to withdraw from the 2022/23 Berks & Bucks Senior Cup. The decision was not taken lightly, accounting for fixture rearrangements and our involvement in the Isuzu FA Trophy. Tomorrow’s match against Marlow is cancelled.”

The Magpies might have won the competition five times in the 21st Century alone, but York Road lost a number of home games due to the freezing weather conditions in January and are due to play either Harrow Borough or Halifax Town at home FA Trophy Fifth Round.

Marlow will now face Vanarama National League South Hungerford Town away in the Quarter Finals.
