Wrexham have won two promotions and are looking good for a play-off spot in League One this season, but one thing the North Wales side can’t do, is head home with three points from Berkshire.

Since Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenny’s takeover of the club, Wrexham haven’t managed a win in the Royal County in four attempts with Reading FC extending that run for another season.

Royals won 2-0 at the Select Car Leasing Stadium on Tuesday night to make it played 4, won 0, drawn 2 and lost 2.

So while Reading took the points on Tuesday night, it is their Berkshire neighbours Maidenhead United who had the most joy on home turf, drawing 2-2 in 2020/21 – the first game attended by Reynolds and McElhenny following their takeover.

The following season Maidenhead won 3-2 at York Road and a memorable tie on 2023 saw another 2-2 draw with a brilliant Reece Smith strike and a 90th minute equaliser from Shawn McCoulsky.
