Harvey Rackley-Hayes back for Berks County as management unveils new faces

The Swords have retained a host of players from the team that posted 80 points last season but have lost two big names

Berks County will go again in the Combined Counties League Division One this season after missing out on the play-offs last season by two points.

The Swords have confirmed the management team of Ben Hall and Dan Money will lead the club for a second season, but crucially shot-stopper and Berkshire Football Awards Player of the Season finalist Harvey Rackley-Hayes has been retained.

County put 80 points on the board as the club recovered from relegation after a season in the Premier Division North. Hall and Money will be joined in the dugout for another season by Assistant Manager Clive Akem-Che.

As well as the management team and goalkeeper, the club have announced a number of retained players including Shaun Wyllie, striker Ellis Day, last season’s top appearance maker Max Wyld, Jamie Griggs, George Gould, Alex Winstone, Charlie Craske, Lawson Jones and Neo Hookey while welcoming new signing Charlie Gmiterek.

Meanwhile the Swords have seen Shaquille Johnson and Kevin Debarros both join Fleet Town. The latter writing on social media: “I’d like to thank all the players and managers for my time there and I won’t forget all the memories along the way. I wish them all the best for the season ahead.”
