Ascot United have moved to appoint a new first team coach ahead of the Isthmian League South Central Division One season.

The Yellas have added Darryl Jelly to Gavin Smith’s management team having recently kept Eversely & California in the Combined Counties League Premier Division South following a historic promotion last summer.

Announcing the move on social media, an Ascot statement said: “We’re delighted to welcome Darryl Jelly to Ascot United as a new First Team Coach who will support Vic. Darryl joins the Yellas after spending the last couple of seasons with Eversley & California, bringing valuable experience and fresh ideas as we continue preparations for the 26/27 campaign.”

Jelly’s time as co-manager at Eversley with Mitch Cooper was undoubtedly a success having earned promotion via the play-offs and then kept the club in the division ahead of much more established rivals Guildford City and Camberley Town who were both relegated – though the latter was given a reprieve.

Jelly will join Yellas assistant manager Victor Ocansey in the dugout next season.
