Mitch Cooper and Darryl Jelly have announced their decision to step down as managers of Eversley & California.
The duo led the Boars to a historic promotion via the play-offs in the Combined Counties League Division One two seasons ago and successfully kept the club at Step 5 in the Premier Division South last season.
A statement from the club said: “Eversley & California FC can confirm that after two very successful seasons which saw us achieve and maintain Step 5 football for the first time, Mitch Cooper and Darryl Jelly have decided to stand down as Joint First Team managers.
“The club would like to thank both Mitch and Darryl for their invaluable contribution in delivering what has been the most successful period of the club’s history.”
Cooper wrote on social media: “After a lot of thought, I’ve decided to step away from management for the time being, which means my time as Player/Manager at Eversley & California has come to an end.
“What an incredible 18 months it has been. Together, we achieved promotion and then followed that up by securing our place at Step 5 the following season. Something everyone should be immensley proud of.
“A special mention to Darryl Jelly. Working alongside an absolute legend has been a pleasure, I wish him nothing but success for the future.”
Jelly added: “A special thanks to Mitch. He’s one of the genuinely nicest people you’ll ever meet. It’s been an absolute pleasure to share the journey alongside him.
“Thanks to Shaun, Luke, Darcey and Liv for making the journey so enjoyable. You’ve made the experience one to always look back on fondly.”
