Football in Berkshire is 10. Wow. What, what a journey we’ve been on. 16th of March, 2016 was when the website first went live.
If I remember rightly, it was about Clive McNelly. He managed his team. They lost twice in a week and there he was still washing the kit. Absolutely the kind of thing that we’ve been deep into over the years.
It’s it’s been it’s been absolutely wonderful. We have posted 7,299 articles in that time. This is article 7,300. That’s a lot of writing, a lot of words. 7,054 images have been uploaded!
Thank you to everybody who’s ever submitted us an image. We really appreciate it. You all know who you are. 61,000 tweets. I’m sure every single one of them is absolutely superb, well crafted. And, you know, made a real difference. 1,345 Instagram posts as well.
We’ve covered two Wembley finals. Unfortunately we hadn’t gone West in 2018 so our apologies to Thatcham Town. We’ve had three amazing Wembley finals in total. Funnily enough, we’ve only have three spelling errors, which is incredible.
If you thought you did see one, I can confirm that they were absolutely on purpose, including that one last week. We’ve had eight awards nights, starting at Binfield FC and moving on to Double-Barrelled Brewery in Reading. Absolutely amazing nights with our amazing hosts over the years, Tom White and Paul Watson have done an incredible job for us there.
We’ve actually won an award as well. We won the best Non-League podcast at the Football Content Awards in 2021. Abi and Rob went off to collect that.
Most importantly though, it’s not a number. It’s infinite, infinite friendships, infinite opportunities that have been afforded to me, and to the team that work on this thing, because it’s not just me. There’s lots of people contributing all the time.
Perhaps even more important, is you guys, everybody out there who’s ever read a story, clicked on something, watched a video.
Disagree with as, agreed with us. Generally on the fence. Anytime you’ve engaged with us, it means the absolute world. We aim to get more people interested in their local club. I hope we’ve succeeded somewhere along the line. Let’s crack on. We’ve got more to do. Maybe one, two, more years where we’ll see!
Thank you very much everybody. Happy birthday Football in Berkshire.
