Ascot United’s bid to reach Step 3 of English Football fell at the hands of Hanworth Villa on Wednesday night as the Yellas were beaten 2-1.

Khalid Simmo scored an injury time consolation but the third minute goal from Guy Ansah-Palmer and 57th minute penalty from Sam Merson were enough to send Villa to the final.

It will be second vs third in the Isthmian League South Central Division One Final after Uxbridge beat Kingstonian 5-4 on penalties.

The Red Army came from 1-0 down when ex-Arbroath attacker Daniel Fosu levelled and then lead through Joshua Addae – only to be pegged back in injury time by Kingstonian’s Eddie Simon.

While the Yellas aren’t heading to the Final, Eversley & California are after beating Penn & Tylers Green 4-2 on penalties in the Combined Counties League Division One play-off semi-final.

The Boars lead late through Henry Paxford (83) and Ben King (89) before Kajtek Halatyn levelled things up at 2-2 in the sixth minute of time added on.

Eversley will travel to Westside on Friday 2nd May to play for a place at Step 5 next season.
