Football in Berkshire’s Alicia Povey hasn’t let a traditional British summer stand in her way, the Futsal star is headed to Spain with the England Beach Soccer team.
Heading to the Mundialito competition in Andalucia, England Beach Soccer will play games against USA, Spain and Portugal over the weekend.
Povey, who has won the Wight Wave Super Cup with her Elite Beach Soccer side, said of her call up: “I’m really excited to be heading out with England Beach Soccer to the Mundialito and looking forward to what’s going to be a massive learning experience for me.”
Previously representing Maidenhead United in the FA Women’s National League in 11 aside competition as well as Reading Royals at Futsal, Povey is a also a Berkshire Football Award’s winner as Player of the Season in 2022.
